Torre Melissa would offer a crystal clear sea and a clean beach. Torre Melissa, however, is a few kilometers far away from important natural and artistic attractions.
Who loves mountains and nature, the great mountain range of Sila is easily reached by car within an hour. Here is the Sila National Park within which there are the famous Fallistro Giants, the animal pens, the Cupone's museum and many other attractions.
For beach lovers there is the Protected Marine Area of Capo Rizzuto with glass-bottom boats to observe flora and fauna of the protected area and the Aquarium where it is can see in special tanks polyps, starfish, seahorses, turtles etc. ... For art lovers, there are numerous attractions in the area.
Very nice is the Aragonese Tower in Torre Melissa. Here you can visit the Museum of the Rural Culture and enjoy the authentic flavors of the Calabrian food at the at the Research Centre of the Calabrian cuisine hosted by the same structure of the Tower.
Also worth seeing are the castles along the coast of Crotone. From the Castle of Charles V in Crotone (840 AD) to the Castle of Le Castella, built by the Aragonese in the late fifteenth.
